Corn and bean farmers say 14 Years of free trade with the United States and Canada have destroyed farming life across Mexico. According to immigration experts, this has been accompanied by a steady rise of undocumented immigration from Mexico to the US during the NAFTA years. The disappearance of corn and bean import taxes in January 2008 could be the final nail in the coffin for rural farmers and raise prices even higher for tortilla consumers in Mexican cities. The video "No Maiz, No Pais" is produced by Luciana Kaplan and Diego Delgado.
